Mrs. Cassandra Jennings

Welcome to Escondido Elementary, home of the Lions!  The 2023-24 school year marks my fourth year at Escondido and my twenty-fourth year in public education. I have taught both first and second grades for a total of twelve years in the General Education classroom. Following my time in the classroom, I served as a Success for All Reading Facilitator.  I then moved into the Response to Intervention (RtI) program and continued to support students through RtI.  Being an intervention teacher allowed me to work closely with small groups of students while providing targeted instruction in both the Math and Reading content areas.  After 20 years at Elolf Elementary, I found out Ms. Latino was the new principal at Escondido, and I transferred schools so I could work for her. Initially, I continued to serve students through RtI, but I currently serve as the Academic Trainer for Escondido.  Some of the responsibilities of the Academic Trainer include working closely with teachers during planning, modeling lessons, conducting training sessions, and reviewing assessment data.  I also am the Family Engagement liaison. I hope to see many of our Lion adults come out to our Parent Engagement meetings.

I am a proud product of Judson ISD! My journey in public education began at Park Village Elementary, continued at Kirby Jr. High School, and culminated in 1988 when I became a graduate of Judson High School, home of Rocket Pride!

Please know that I am here to assist Escondido students and their families in any way that I can.  Just as my JISD teachers did for me, I will do my absolute best to help your child reach his or her dreams so that ALL will HEAR THEM ROAR!
